shabbat meal celebration
July 17, 2020

Men Like Trees Ministries with Pastors Oscar & Virginia Martinez blessed JCRS-SATX by celebrating a Shabbat Meal on July 17, 2020. It was beautiful & heartwarming to experience our first Shabbat Meal. Giving thanks to the Lord by blessing Him and thanking Him for all that He provides for us.
The sounding of the shofars at the beginning just brings goose bumps. The special blessing of the wine, the bread, the food, the children, the wives, the husbands. It was so beautiful. Before the night ended, they blessed us with dancing unto the Lord as Miriam danced for Him (Ex 15:20).

PENTECOST SUNDAY 2020
MAY 31, 2020
JCRS-SATX held their first Baptismal ceremony in accordance with Acts 2 when the outpouring of the Holy Spirit came upon the 120 believers who began speaking in tongues. The Apostle Peter preached his first sermon and, “So then, those who accepted his message were baptized; and on that day about 3,000 souls were added [to the body of believers].”
(Acts 2:1-4 & 41).

Fourteen people were baptized in the Name of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). They were buried in Christ through their immersion in the water & resurrected into a new life in Christ as they came up from the water (Romans 6:3-4). Baptism is an outward expression of our obedience to the Lord, just as Jesus permitted John the Baptist to baptize Him (Matthew 3:13-17).

journey to the holy land
September 1-11 2019
JCRS-SATX took it’s first group, as a church, to the Holy Land of Israel. Our tour guide, Yonatan Shlomo of https://www.utourisrael.com did an amazing job of leading our tours.
We visited sites in Bethlehem, the City of David, where Jesus was born. In Jerusalem we visited sites such as Via Dolorosa, The Garden Tomb where we held communion service, Mt of Olives, and Garden of Gethsamene. We also saw Abraham’s Well in Beersheba, ancient Tel Be’er Sheba site, a full-size replica of the Tabernacle that God commissioned Moses to create for the Israelites in the wilderness. We saw the water falls of En Gedi, where David was hiding from King Saul.
We had some leisure time at the Red Sea & the Dead Sea. We visited Qumeran where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. We stayed in a kibbutz, a Jewish agricultural community. We were baptized in the River Jordan. We took a boat ride in the Sea of Galilee, visited Capernaum where Jesus performed many miracles. We also visited the Mt of Beatitudes and had lunch at Peter The Fisherman’s Restaurant in the Sea of Galilee area. We visited the town of Magdala, the home town of Mary Magdalene. Went to Mt Carmel where Elijah had the show down with Jezebel’s prophets. We also went to Nazareth and visited a small village that recreates what life would’ve been like during Jesus’ times. We visited beautiful Ceasarea by the Mediterranean Sea where Cornelius, a gentile, had a dream/vision from God regarding the Apostle Peter who would come and preach to them the gospel of Christ, bringing salvation to gentiles as well as Jews.
It’s an amazing spiritual journey that every believer should experience. JCRS-SATX looks forward to taking other groups within the coming years.

JCRS-SATX 1st Anniversary Celebration
MAY 31, 2020
We gave God all the glory & honor as we celebrated one year of existence as God’s church, with Jesus Christ, our Lord & Savior and Great Shepherd. We were blessed and honored to be joined by our home church, Hope for New Life Church with Pastor Victor Smith & Co-Pastor Latrenda Smith.
Our sister church, Eternal Life Royal Ministries with Pastor Cynthia Hinojosa-Hale, and some of their congregants, also graced us with their presence. We look forward to continuing the work of the Great Commission that the Lord has placed in our hearts of preaching, teaching, evangelizing, healing and preparing the saints for oneness in Christ.
